I study esoteric metaphysics — the structure of consciousness, the subtle bodies, and the inner evolution of the soul.

Butterflies in Autumn
Beautiful butterfly
Your wings are lovely but worn
Your gown that flowed from heaven
Is now tattered and torn.
The summer is cooling
And the trees stretch and yawn
Awaiting winters slumber
Their leaves fall to the lawn
This dance that we call autumn
Comes but every year
And Mother Nature welcomes her
So please don’t shed a tear.
The flowers belong to heaven
With raindrops and morning dew
And butterflies live forever,
Because God made them too.

I wrote this poem many, many years ago.
The other day I spent the afternoon in the park – a natural wonderland of ocean and jagged coastline, forested inland with gentle trails and hiking paths leading to sight-seeing points to the ocean and the mainland on the other side.
On the walk down the pathway I captured this picture of the SwallowTail Butterfly on the flowering weed – and it wasn’t until I got home that evening and looked at my photos that I noticed the torn and tattered wings of this once-majestic creature.
It brought to mind this poem that I wrote so many years ago – if I had to guess, it could easily have been 30 years ago —
but here it is for you today.
Take the day – In Joy
Cindy
